Nothing says exciting like jumping from an air carrier, dashing to the objective point, and clearing out most of the opposition to give your teammate the opening needed to plant the bomb. Then the squad cleans up the rest of the enemies and flex with the craziest emote available. This is Rogue Company.

Rogue Company is a 4v4 Team-based multiplayer shooter published by Hi-Rez. Play as an elite mercenary to complete different objectives in various maps. This title features multiple game modes that cater to those looking for a specific playstyle: Demolition is a classic search and destroy mode where one team plants a bomb at a designated target site. Deathmatch is a 6v6 mode where teams try to eliminate the opposing forces revive tickets to zero. Strikeout is a 4v4 mode with similar rules as deathmatch. Ranked Demolition has rules similar to regular Demolition, but victories or losses will be recorded for ranking purposes. Lastly, we have King of the Hill, a limited-time mode where teams occupy an objective location and defend it for specific durations.

The game features a 3rd person point of view. Before deployment, players will select their character from a large roster of mercenaries. These playable characters are characterized by classes called breachers, intel, support, and duelists. Each of these has special skills and gadgets assigned to them to fulfill their role. At the start of the round, players will choose and buy their initial loadout from the store. Money to buy these items is earned at the start of every round and when the player gets kills.

Rogues have access to multiple loadout combinations. Mastery ranks are awarded to the weapons you frequently use. Firearms come in different types like submachine guns, assault rifles, designated marksman rifles, shotguns, and pistols. There is a wide variety of melee weapons ranging from baseball bats to katanas. Players also have access to throwables with different flavors like smoke, poison gas, and explosives. To complete the set, Rogues can equip special gadgets unique to them. There are deployable shields, tracker darts, a claymore, and the list goes on.

Rogue Company runs on Unreal Engine 4, so the player is assured that the graphics will be crisp and detailed. Character designs and their respective skins are well crafted to be recognizable at any distance. Particle effects for explosions and other gadgets look stunning as well. Every inch of the game is oozing with style, from the Rogues to the weapons they carry.

Sound design is vital in these types of games, and I’m happy to say it warrants a pass in that department. Explosions feel big, firing guns is satisfying, the music hypes you up, and the voice acting is enjoyable!
