Earn Street Cred, play by the rules, or wave around a rocket launcher in a world filled with anarchy in CrimeCraft.
GangWars is an expansion of the original game, adding more content, giving both new and veteran players a fresh experience.
Drop into the post-apocalyptic world and make a name for yourself!
We’re still wondering why there aren’t a lot of shooter-MMO crossbreeds. You might think that Tom Clancy’s The Division may be the first, but it’s not: it’s just the latest entry to the already large cast. One of the most successful ones on its list is CrimeCraft, which even has its own expansion pack, CrimeCraft: GangWars. Set in the fictional Sunrise City, a bustling metropolis infested with criminal gangs and experiencing the effects of world economy’s collapse, this game provides a new take on the criminal underworld.
In a nutshell, CrimeCraft is a third-person shooter with RPG aspects. Here, you get to play a character who managed to escape the post-apocalyptic world and made it to Sunrise City. Although your character made the right move in getting there, he/she is sucked into the world of crime. The GangWars expansion pack further advances the story: it is set in the aftermath of the Bleedout Campaign, wherein the governing body of Sunrise City, the Scorpion Chamber, has been decimated.
This results into complete anarchy, and without a government, rival gangs are stepping up their game, vying for control of the entire city. In this expansion pack, you can create your own gang, or join an existing one. From there, you can fight to gain control of over 20 combat zones and three districts. Each area you control will generate resources, like cash, different kinds of loot, and other bonuses to further enrich your brand and make it the top brass in the entire city.
If you’re new to the game, you’ll start off as a level one character armed with a submachine gun that is as lethal as a nerf gun. Sunrise City itself is considered a haven: you’re free from harm and you do various tasks inside, like storing your items inside ATMs, send mail to other players, and gain entry to your gang’s hideout (assuming you already have one).
Though the game is a cross between a TPS and an MMORPG, it’s not an open world one. The main gameplay aspect is centered around maps wherein you either go up against other players, or be in a PvE environment (bots). The bots themselves are quite difficult to deal with, and that’s a good thing: they can easily hide and shoot from cover, while flinging grenades at you. They’re smart, and they pose a challenge even to the veterans of the game.
The PvP modes are where you will likely spend the most time in, and there are several game modes you can invest a lot of time in. For example, there’s Robbery, wherein you attempt to steal money from the opposing team’s safe, as well as Team Deathmatch, wherein the goal is self-explanatory. PvP games are unpredictable and fast-paced, thanks to the expansive design of the combat maps as well as the fragility of the characters. Several shots are enough to take down even the most well-equipped players.
There are numerous weapons you can equip, from light machine guns, sniper rifles, and rocket launchers. You’ll unlock more weapons and enhance your capabilities. However, you somehow can’t jump in the game, which is hilarious. Nevertheless, you can sprint and roll to cover to save yourself from an incoming hail of bullets.
Overall, CrimeCraft is a fantastic game, and the GangWars expansion pack adds more to it. We highly recommend trying them out!
