In a world where private military contractors are dominating the weapons and manpower market, it’s only possible that proxy wars between these PMCs on behalf of their clients will become the rage. This is the world you plunge into as a contractor in Contract Wars, an electrifying first person shooter that you can play on Facebook.
Take note, you will need to have the Unity webplayer installed before you can play this FPS. In addition, you can only play on Firefox because Chrome has already dropped support for Unity beginning version 42.
Simulating an actual military organization, the game starts you off with a rank that’s worthy of your level and experience. Over time, however, you gain experience points and you start gaining ranks. This is necessary in order to unlock weapons and other items. Thus, you could say that, the higher your level, the more powerful your arsenal becomes.
You start off with a Pistol, your standard sidearm. However, the game gives you a first-time gift - an assault rifle with a scope attachment that you can use for around 140 hours before it expires. You’ll then have to rent a new weapon after this, or re-acquire that weapon you’ve worked with for some hours.
That is how the weapons acquisition system works here in Contract Wars. You’re not buying the weapon, so you only have it on your arsenal for a few days. This presents an additional challenge and a motivation to play - you will want to earn enough CR, the game’s currency, so you can continue to use that favored weapon.
Of course, to earn CR, you’ll have to participate in matches. Most of the games here are Team Deathmatches, but there are other modes in this FPS as well.
Each match typically runs for about 13 minutes. At the end of these matches, the game will reward you your experience points. The amount of experience points you earn depends on your performance in the match. You can gain experience points for racking up kills, but you can also earn Exp by assisting your team members in a kill.
You can also steal kills, if you want to, and give your teammate an Assist instead.
You then have the choice of continuing with the match or leaving.
The control system is similar to all FPS games in the market. A,S,W and D are used to move the character around. This is supported by Space for jumping, C for crouching, and the mid-mouse button for swapping weapons.
However, it lacks the Sprint button, which in other FPS games is the Shift button on the keyboard.
Enjoy the game’s fully high-definition graphics by pressing F12 anytime.
Contract Wars joins a long list of highly successful and definitely engaging first-person shooters one can play online. While one can make purchases using real money, the game does not require that from you in order to join its community.
